A fine set of (five volumes), almost miniature leather bound books contained in the original silk-lined, leather box. Each volume measures: 4.5" x 2.75" x 0.5" (10.7cm x 7.0cm x 1.2cm). 16mo. Polished brown calf over thin boards, with gilt filet border, and bight gilt title: "Scott" to each front board. Spine with bright gilt title: "Scott's Poetical Works", volume number, and publisher: "Oxford", to the base of each spine. All page edges bright gilt. Brown endpapers with a floral pattern. Each volume with a crimson silk marker ribbon. Clean text throughout. No previous ownership marks, or other blemishes. A very good set with hardly any signs of use. The leather box shows light signs or wear, but with out ant cracks or staining. The box measures: 4,75" x 3.25" x 3.25" (11.8cm x 7.9cm x 7.9cm). It is hinged at the rear, with a metal catch at the front. The box is covered in match brown calf, with gilt title to the top cover: "Scott". The interior is lined in brown silk, with gilt contents to the interior of the top cover: "Contents: Vol. I. The Lay Of the Last Minstrel, Marmion; Vol. II. Lady Of The Lake, Rokery; Vol. III. The Lord Of The Isles, Harold The Dauntless, The Bridal Of Triermain; Vol. IV.
